Easter at Wynndean…

Welcome to Easter in Wynndean! We hope to see you all down in the Park soon and enjoying the beautiful crisp mornings, fresh air and still beach afternoons. And maybe a chocolate treat or two!

We would like to take the oportunity to welcome four new families to Wynndean since December 2025. It is always bittersweet when guests move on to a new holiday experience but we are thrilled to welcome our new families, all who have existsing connections with the Park.

Many of our Wynndean guests are an active bunch and we love hearing about the events our guests have participated in- congratulations to the number of families who participated in the Sheepwash Classion on the weekend.

We asked our guests and family some of their favourite Autumn activities-

  • “A morning beach walk”, Carol

  • “Board games under the big gum tree with the kids”, Sarah

  • “A bike ride along 13th”, Simon

  • “Visiting the Rotary Market”, Joy and Tony

  • “Fishing at Swan Bay” Tom and Mike

  • “Watching the kids in the Easter Egg Hunt”, Janice

  • “The big Easter moons!” Rachel

  • Ket Baker croissants and coffee from the Dunes, Carly

You may like to check out the new pathway into Block 6 BBQ area, it’s a lovely, quiet spot and you can’t get much closer to the ocean breeze! Now we have had some rain, the grass is greening and vegetation is being revived after a long, dry Summer.

Did you see or hear about the excavation of the 20million year old fossil found at Ocean Grove Beach?
In December 2025 John on his regular beach walk, took some photos of what he believed was a fossil. It turned out to be the thoracic of a toothed whale and would go on to be one of the largest and most complicated fossil excavations in Victorian history.

You might like to check out Adam Stan Photography’s footage of the excavation process-

You might even like to try and cast your eye over the evolving rockscape and see if you can spot/discover your own fossil. Many rocks are being exposed which have long been hidden.

Connection- Easter Egg Hunt

A highlight of our Wynndean year is our annual Easter Egg Hunt. We love seeing so many of our families gathering together on this happy morning. The Egg Hunt will happen on Easter Sunday. Keep an eye out for more details on specific times.

Movie Night

Over the Easter weekend (weather permitting) an outdoor movie will be shown. Join us to watch “Peter Rabbit 2” outside the Office. Bring your blankets, cushions & popcorn!

Easter in the Office

Kids might like to pop in to grab a small Easter activity from our the Office. Keep an eye out for a Holiday Fact Hunt and some colouring sheets.

The movie Peter Rabbit 2 will be screened at the front of the Office.

Book/Toy Library

Come along and grab a book or bag full, kids & adult books available. We also have a small collection of toys children may borrow. Location: near the front of the Office over the Easter weekend (starting Saturday).

Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Patrols

For our guests information, OGSLSC will only be on Patrol during 9:45am -5pm over the Easter weekend. There will be no mid week patrols at Ocean Grove main beach. Weekend patrols will occur with all patrols finishing on April 19th. With big tides and swell often visiting us during the Autumn months we strongly encourage all guests but particularly kids, to swim with a friend or have adequate supervision.

Care-

Friendly Easter Reminders/To Do’s!

A reminder to all guests the following is required prior to heading home at the end of your stay-

  • Take down fairy lights

  • Remove clothes lines

  • Ensure clear access down the sides of vans and annexes

  • Roll up artificial grass

  • Put away umbrellas, gazebos, bikes and boards from outside vans/annexes.

We kindly remind all guests that these activities are essential to allow our Outdoor team and contractors to safely access all sites for future tree trimming and site maintenance.

Each year artificial grass is required to be rolled up to allow grass to regrow for site stability, drainage and vegetation growth. Our Local contractor is offering a once only bulk rate, please contact the office for more details. Please ensure all turf is stored safely under your van in line with CFA clearances and separations by Monday 20th April. After this date all remaining artificial grass will be referred to our local contractor to come on site to attend to on your behalf. This will be covered under the once only bulk rate.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Walking Pace Only

ELECTRIC ACTIVITIES HAVE NO SOUND

A reminder that our speed limit around the park is at walking pace or 5km/h.

This also applies to our electronic scooters, bikes & board riders.
Please remember that the scooters are silent and people are often not aware of them approaching. We love seeing everybody out & about, enjoying the park and would like to keep it safe for all. Most importantly, please remember your helmet.

Gas Services

Wynndean provides a gas delivery, connection and test service for in date 9kg and 45kg bottles. To avoid running out mid-dinner, mid-shave or with shampoo in your hair (!!), keep an eye on your bottle and we will happily replace it during business hours. Request Gas Bottles here via the form on our website- https://www.wynndean.com.au/gas-bottle-requests

9kg bottles are $50 45kg bottles are $150

Working Smoke Alarms- replace your batteries

A reminder that it is a requirement to have a working smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and fire blanket in your van. These items can be purchased at cost from our Office. Please feel free to grab our laminated Emergency Evacuation Procedures as well.

Hard Rubbish & items for donation- form on our website!

Once again, this season we are happy to collect hard rubbish items which we will recycle and/or donate to charity organisations where possible. This includes old BBQs, fridges, bikes, TV’s and most items no longer required. There is a lot of “hard rubbish” down the sides/back of vans and we would love to help in cleaning this up!

Request a free collection from our website Hard Rubbish Collection Request — Wynndean or contact the office.
